Mesa, Arizona – After years of dedicated service to Mesa Public Schools and public education, Superintendent Dr. Andi Fourlis announces her retirement, effective June 30, 2025. Selected as superintendent in 2020, Fourlis has led the district through numerous milestones, always focusing on the District promise of knowing students by name, serving them by strength and need, ensuring they graduate ready for college, career, and community.
"It has been one of the greatest honors of my life to serve this community as superintendent," said Dr. Fourlis. "Throughout my tenure, I have remained unwavering in my commitment to our promise—to serve each student in a way that best supports their individual needs and strengths, so they leave our schools ready to succeed in their futures."
Under Fourlis’ leadership, Mesa Public Schools has made significant strides in redesigning learning experiences for students, collaboration among staff, and enhancing community engagement while always prioritizing student success. The Mesa Public Schools Governing Board has expressed appreciation for Fourlis’ years of service and dedication to the district’s mission.
"The Board is grateful to Dr. Fourlis for her years of service to Mesa Public Schools. Her visionary leadership has had a positive impact on our students, families and community," said Board President Marcie Hutchinson. “As the ultimate collaborator, she has been able to establish innovations that position the district for success.”
The timing of Fourlis’ announcement allows the Governing Board to begin the search for the next superintendent before the typical recruitment season begins. This will help ensure that Mesa Public Schools attract top candidates and provide ample time for a smooth and successful transition in leadership.
The Governing Board will soon announce the next steps in the search for a new superintendent to continue the district’s work to increase student outcomes.
