At every board meeting during the school year, Mesa Public Schools will recognize a Spotlight School. The Spotlight School at the November 12 meeting is Stevenson Elementary. Below are principal Kelsey Christofferson's remarks on each honoree.

It is my pleasure to spotlight Nora Gonzalez, an exceptional teacher who is a true product of Mesa Public Schools. Having attended Webster Elementary, Carson and Taylor Junior High Schools, and graduating from Mesa High School, Nora's deep roots in our community have shaped her dedication to education. She began her MPS career in her senior year of high school, first as an intern with the KinderU program, then as a preschool instructional assistant while completing her degree at Arizona State University.
